Native Instruments has announced that a User Library for Absynth2 is now online. This library allows registered Absynth2 users to freely exchange their own sound creations on the NI website – similiar to what users of Reaktor and Guitar Rig have been enjoying for some time now.

The Absynth2 User Library offers extensive functionality including a category system, convenient searching and sorting, a user rating system, automatic e-mail notification and much more. A special category even allows the convenient exchange of “building blocks” like individual oscillator channels, complex envelopes and effect settings.

Nils Krueger, product manager for Absynth2: “With this new User Library, we want to give Absynth2 users an opportunity to share and discuss their own creations, and to get even more out of the vast potential of this outstanding software synthesizer. We are looking forward to seeing an active online community develop around Absynth2 in the future.”

Right from the start, the library already holds more than 100 new sounds from the Absynth creator and lead developer himself, Brian Clevinger.

The Absynth2 User Library can be found at http://www.native-instruments.com/absynthuserlib.info.

      something to think about

For years, I have been using rules to write music, but without computers. For instance, I’ve used systems of multiple tape loops that are allowed to reconfigure in various ways, while all I do is supply the original musical sounds or elements and then the system keeps throwing out new patterns of them. It is a kaleidoscopic music machine that keeps making new variations and new clumps. — Brian Eno
