Two Free New VST Plug-Ins

MonofilterNuGen Audio has introduced a pair of VST PC format plug-ins, Monofilter LT 1.0 and Stereoizer LT 1.0, that are available for free download.

Monofilter LT provides a simple interface designed to convert a stereo signal below a specified frequency into a mono signal. The balance knob allows adjustment of the remaining stereo signal above the cutoff frequency. The plug-in is intended for ensuring that sounds are suitable for mastering to vinyl and keeping a check on LF signals in general, especially where stereo effects processing has been applied.

Features:

  • Large frequency knob to dial in the point at which “monofiltering” will act.
  • Balance control to adjust the position of the remaining stereo signal above the monofilter point

SteroizerStereoizer LT adds ‘stereo spread’ to a mono signal by splitting the frequencies into bands and then shifting them differently in the R and L channels, useful for adding depth to percussion loops and livening up synth pads, and more.

Features:

  • Width control. Adjusts the level of the overall effect applied. Increasing this value, increases the generated stereo width of the signal.
  • Resolution. Adjusts the coarsness of the algorithm used. Increase this value to get an increasingly even spread in the stereo spectrum across the frequency ranges. Experimentation is recommended, as the effect achieved is highly dependent upon the input signal. Higher values increase CPU usage.

Both Monofilter and Stereoizer are available as a free, unlimited download from NuGen Audio.
