Sylver – Nighttime Calls

Nighttime Calls, and if you’re looking for straight-ahead euro dance/trance music to liven up the evening, Sylver delivers with this CD.

Sylver, made up of the vocalist Silvy De Bie and dj/producer Wout van Dessel, hit the charts in Europe a few years ago with their debut single Turn the Tide. As you might expect based on their names, De Bie and van Dessel hail from Belgium, but they’ve taken their music around the world, reaching the top 10 around Europe and elsewhere.

Their CD, Nighttime Calls, is full of uptempo dance tracks. The production is solid throughout, the tracks are full of hooks and Sylver seems to be intent on keeping the dance floor moving. Highlights of the CD include Summer Soltice and Where Did the Love Go?, a couple of trance anthems; Make It, which veers into Kylie’s territory with a hypnotic dance beat; and Where Did I Go Wrong?, a driving dance track full of great synth sounds and effects.

Sylver’s Nighttime Calls came out a couple of years ago in Europe, so it’s strange that it is just now being released in the US. Maybe you can’t keep a good thing down?
