Michelle Moog-Koussa, daughter of synth pioneer Bob Moog and Director of The Bob Moog Foundation has announced The Bob Moog Foundation for Electronic Music, an organization intended to honor his legacy of innovation and curiosity.
The Foundation has plans for three endowed scholorships, a memorial museum, event sponsorships and an outreach program for disadvantaged children.
The Foundation has also introduced a podcast, the Moog Foundation Podcast. The first episode features an introduction to the foundation and a look at the band Perpetual Groove, a synth rock band from Athens, Georgia.
All the members of P-Groove play Moog instruments
- Matt McDonald keys – Voyager Blue
- Brock Butler guitar – Moogerfooger Ring Modulator, MuRF & Analog Delay
- Adam Perry bass – Moogerfooger Bass MuRF
- Albert Suttle drums – Moogerfooger MuRF (from a drum synth pad)
The foundation is also looking for submissions for future podcasts. Moogerfoogers can submit Moog-based music for consideration at the Moog Foundation site.
