DogmixerUK-based IDM/breakbeat artists Dogmixer offers some sample-laced techno on Bong 93, an EP on Replicant Society.

The music is straight-ahead techno/big-beat, with some tasty sci-fi oriented samples from the likes of The Prisoner & Dune. The samples are ear-catching on first listen, but after several listenings one wonders if the songs could work even better without the emphasis on the vocal samples.

The tracks themselves have an driving, aggressive quality that wouldn’t be out of place in a Matrix film, or maybe a video-game soundtrack.

The EP has limited release, but you can check it out at CD Baby. You can also find out more about Dogmixer at his MySpace site.
