Tangerine Dream LiveMarch 05: It’s free electronic music month at Synthtopia. All month, we’re going to help you kick the RIAA habit by highlighting great electronic music that’s available for free on the Internet.

If you’re into the classic synth music of Tangerine Dream, you may want to dig into the Tangerine Tree project.

The project is a collaborative effort by fans to remaster and distribute live TD music. They find the best bootlegs and apply modern remastering technologies to get the best sound quality possible. According to the group, they “operate under the tacit approval of Tangerine Dream and TDI music under the conditions that it is expressly not for profit.”

Festival Hall, Adelaide, Australia 3.25.1975, below, features TD’s classic lineup. The recording is noisy, but it captures the spririt of some of their greatest early recordings.
