Bellyqueen Dance Theater, a professional world dance company based in New York city, is a non-traditional belly-dancing group that combines belly dance tradition with other dance forms such as popping, hip-hop, modern, jazz, ballet, gypsy, flamenco, chinese and afro-haitian.

The group believes in the equality of all races. They hope that bellydance will some day be elevated to a universally appreciated artform. They believe that world peace start with inner peace.

Most of all though, they offer a reminder to laptop DJs that a stunning visual performance makes electronic music come alive – maybe it’s time to collaborate with some local dancers…..
