Great feedback. I'm still a Traktor fan myself - but Torq's integrated hardware approach is pretty cool....

Xponent works wonders BUT...

The Xponent does everything it is suppose to do, as a control surface.

The Xponent comes bundle with Torq-DJ, pro version v1.04 (as of sept 2007). And I suggest that you take a very good look at the software and also at the official Torq-DJ forum, section "wishlist". You will find that Torq-DJ as a very elementary browser and filelist.

You will NOT be able to rate your music, see play count, manage id3tag properly, choose which column to show; The database view will be crowded with the furthests folders in your music organisation; you won't be able to choose by genre, nor which field to search in.

Furthermore, for every mp3 analysed there will be added a .tqd file in the same folder (this file contains information for Torq-DJ).

Basicaly, anything to do with brower, song management, Torq-DJ is under developed, born prematuraly.

If this is important to you, or you are used to other software that have a very elaborated browser section, you might think twice before acquiring a Xponent.

Furthermore, there is no auto play.

Oh, but you might think "no probs, I'll use my own software and control it with xponent", then yes, BUT forget about controling the leds of any buttons (like Torq-DJ does so nicely) and the sound level leds will be useless.

These are just a few issues with Torq-SJ, please check the dedicated Torq-DJ forum to help you evaluate the software, because that is what you will be using.

best regards
