Open Labs Timbaland MiKo

Open Labs MiKo Timbaland Edition

At the Summer NAMM Show, Open Labs introduced the sexy Timbaland Special Edition MiKo keyboard workcenter.

Building on the standard features of the MiKo LX, an all-in-one portable studio powered by Windows XP, the Timbaland Special Edition takes the instrument to a new level.

Timbaland Special Edition MiKo features an all-new Arctic White Chassis color scheme, E-MU’s new Proteus X2 Streaming Sound Module V2.5 with over 7,000 instruments, including the new Ensoniq Urban Legends Sound Library with the sounds from Ensoniq’s ASR/EPS/MR/ASR-X/ZR instruments. These sounds were specifically requested by Timbaland, and are only available in the Timbaland MiKo.

Here’s Timbaland talking to Open Labs about the MiKo:

“I’ve made the new Timbaland Special Edition MiKo with Tim’s Touch,” said Timbaland, “It’s got everything I need in a single box and when I use it, we make masterpieces.”

The Timbaland Edition MiKo contains over 24-gigabytes of premium sounds, constituting 25,027 presets. The street price for the bundled software and sound libraries is $2,967, which includes $487 worth of Open Labs Special Edition plugins, optimized by the software developers for use with the MiKo.

“Timbaland is really on top of the world right now. His music is everywhere,” said President of Open Labs, Victor Wong. “To think that he is using our gear to produce these hits is cool, but the fact that he has put a little bit of himself into the MiKo, making it an even better instrument, is incredible. This is all very exciting for us.”

“We are honored that Timbaland asked us to help create his ultimate instrument,” said E-MU’s Senior Product Manager, Ichi Nagai. “We are excited to put together the exclusive Ensoniq Urban Legends Sound Library for Open Labs that contains many of Timbaland’s favorite sounds that he’s used in his work over the years.”

The Timbaland Special Edition MiKo will start shipping on August 15, 2007. The estimated street price is: $3,899 and includes the following:

a joke!!!! amon tobin is a producer, dan lanois, jon brion, eno,

    1. funny how you say amon tobin is a producer and that timbo is fake not real is he a robot or hologram? , amon one of my fav`s to as well as timbo . Amon well he samples`s like crazy , tho he`s very good and making them orginal and unrecognisable.

      Monkey see, monkey doo

  4. the ignorance in the coment about all the same sounds made me laugh my ass off. first of all none of timbos sounds are stock, you can scroll through any vitrual instrument or keyboard yo ass wont find one sound he uses, the only similarity in his tracks are his drums, which end to have similar grove, but if the tracks are sellin beautifully and the groove continues to grow and beat, why change em. sry phil, though old school analougue is dope, the only difference in the miko and analogues is that the miko has hundreds of thoudnds more samples. acting like hes fake cuz of his equipment is bull shit and if you kno producing you kno thats bull

    1. Really man? Go out and Buy a Novation V-Station VSTi plug-in and tell me those sounds are ones that timbaland has used. Ive remade the guys beats sound for sound just off that plug-in broham

    1. why dont u go on youtube and learn something about hip hop? its called sampling and everyone does it Kanye and timbo are the best samplers becuz most of the time you cant even tell its a sample. In addition many of the samples used came from songs that wud NEVER get any exposure so in reality timbo and kanye are a BIG help to those artists.

Am highly impressed with Tim cos he is an agent of change and i respect that. am so eager to Use MIKO n NEKO consoles

  7. actually, timbo is known for sampling hits from other countries… these already famous artists get no recognition… plus the samples are not hidden at all….. and timbo doesn't just sample a second or 2; he is known for ripping off whole hooks. … he is not sampling. He is stealing

  8. I agree with hate on politics. We spend to much time hating on the wrong peps. Send the hates to the ones who steal your culture, you freedom and you`re civil liberties the………………
