Digidesign Intros Mbox 2 Micro Pro Tools Rig

Digidesign has just introduced the Mbox 2 Micro – a pocket-sized Pro Tools LE system.

The size of a typical USB flash drive, Mbox 2 Micro combines high-quality audio output/monitoring capabilities with the power of Pro Tools LE software. That means that Pro Tools can edit and mix live or studio-recorded sessions created on Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools LE, or Pro Tools M-Powered systems anywhere.

Mbox 2 Micro features an anodized aluminum case; a 1/8-inch stereo output jack supports up to 24-bit/48 kHz audio playback; and a volume wheel makes headphone adjustments easy. Mbox 2 Micro comes with Pro Tools LE software, a collection of over 45 Bomb Factory and DigiRack effects plug-ins, and Digidesign’s Xpand! sample-playback/synthesis workstation.

“We’ve received many requests from customers across the entire user spectrum seeking a greater degree of portability when using Pro Tools on the road, and we’re very excited to introduce Mbox 2 Micro as a response to that growing demand. Mbox 2 Micro not only enables on-the-go mixing and editing, but when combined with our growing family of virtual instruments, it becomes a very compelling solution for easily creating loop- and sample-based music,” said Dusty DiMercurio, marketing manager for Digidesign personal studio products.

Mbox 2 Micro has a suggested retail price of $279 (USD).
