Goddesses Of The Keytar: Juliette Commagere

Keytarist & Goddess Juliette Commagere

Keytars have been the subject of ridicule for years because of their association with 80’s hair bands.

Fortunately, today’s keytarists aren’t like the keytarists of the 80’s. If there’s any doubt in your mind about that, you’re probably not familiar with Juliette Commagere, above, the keytarist & vocalist of Hello Stranger.

Hello Stranger is an indie alt-rock band…..at least it was, before Commagere went all medieval on the rest of the band:

Hello Stranger bow & arrow

Guess her ‘mates made one too many keytar jokes.

You can see Commagere in action below.

Just don’t make any keytar jokes.

Know of any other keytar goddesses changing the perception of this much-maligned instrument? Let us know in the comments!

  1. I first heard Juliette Commagere in Avenged Sevenfold’s A Little Piece of Heaven and I loved her voice! I had to find who’s voice it was and here I am, loving your vocals!

  2. Sara Ruba of New Look is one of my favorite singers and she straps on a Casio CZ-101 phase distortion synth all the time when they play live. They're a 2 piece band so being able to strap on the keyboard is more interesting than just having the singer sit or stand behind a bunch of hardware. http://relaxyourmind.wordpress.com/

If you haven't heard their music you've probaby seen her in an ad for someting or other because she's also a model, which probably pays more than being in an Canadian indie band. http://www.modelresource.ca/Bios/Ruba/sarah_ruba_
