Meat Beat Manifesto Tour

Meat Beat Manifesto has announced a spring US tour behind the band’s forthcoming ninth studio album, Autoimmune.

You can preview a track from Autoimmune, International, below.

The UK group will hit 13 cities in April and May, following the April 8 release of the album:

April 2008
9 – Seattle, WA – Neumos
10 – Portland, OR – Berbati’s Pan
11 – San Francisco, CA – Slim’s
12 – Los Angeles, CA – El Rey Theatre
13 – San Diego, CA – Canes
19 – Chicago, IL – The Abbey
21 – Cleveland, OH – Grog Shop
24 – Cambridge, MA – Middle East
26 – New York, NY – Highline Ballroom
27 – Washington, DC – The Rock & Roll Hotel
28 – Carrboro, NC – Cat’s Cradle

May 2008
2 – Houston, TX – Warehouse Live
4 – Dallas, TX – Granada Theatre

“The live performance has become an integral component of my sound and production,” said founder Jack Dangers. “The question is how to do it better than last time.”

The 2-CD Autoimmune features Dangers fronting an entirely different lineup than he employed on 2005’s At the Center. Aside from Dangers on vocals, synth and bass flute, this year’s model of Meat Beat features Mark Pistel on live sequencing and modular synthesizer, drummer Lynn Farmer, and video sampler/DJ Ben Stokes.

“Every record is different,” said Dangers, “and in this record I focused on what I like to do versus what other people like me to do: beats, bass and distortion.”

Oh Hell Yeah! I caught MBM last time they rocked the HOB on Sunset Bl.,
and it absolutely ruled. The live show was mind blowing and the whole
crowd was in awe. See you at El Rey! Jack Dangers is God!

Holy Crap, is this a major LOL… When I saw Cameron’s post listed
as 11/12 I assumed this was a new item, but alas, this is an old post,
(did it get accidentally re-posted?) Nope- MBM isn’t going to be at
El Ray 04/12/09, it was 04/12/08, bummer. I don’t read so well before my morning caffeine fix, which leads me to believe that I should be sleeping
in instead of coming to work.

      something to think about

I think generally playing live is a crap idea. So much of stage work is the presentation of personality, and I’ve never been interested in that. — Brian Eno
