carl-stone.jpgCarl Stone is one gurus of live computer music in the classical tradition, having worked with computers in live performance since 1986.

I remember picking up a copy of his Woo Lae Oak - a sort of minimal ambient work - in Lawrence, KS.

This was back in the vinyl days, and I hadn’t heard a lot of his more recent work.

I was checking out his site today and noticed that he’s got a nice collection of free MP3s of live computer music performances from the last twenty years. You can preview Shibucho below. Listen to how it dances between glitchtronica and a recognizable sample.

Check his site for a variety of other free downloads.
