Anyone ever recall the lawsuit they had to settle for all their “Sampling” on that lp?
I liked it a lot but it’s super annoying to hear them talk-their egos are sky high!

doctec - you’re probably right about it being less groundbreaking. They’re twenty years older and both have developed pretty mature styles.

I’m still looking forward to the collaboration, though.

While I’m a huge Eno fan, I’ve never been that big on his vocal stuff, primarily because of his inane lyrics. Some artists can come up with stream of consciousness sound-lyrics that are very evocative - but Eno’s typically do nothing for me. (I did like Baby’s on Fire, though!)

Byrne is really strong lyrically, so it should be a great match. Their three Talking Heads albums are classics.

As for the collaboration itself: the fact that as opposed to Bush Of Ghosts, where Byrne & Eno worked together in the studio, building up jams and doing a cut & paste number on found vocals, it sounds to me like this latest effort will not be either as groundbreaking nor as adventurous - inasmuch as Eno put the music beds together on his own and is having Byrne write & sing lyrics on top of them. I am expecting a relatively sedate, mature-sounding Talking-Heads-ish extension of “Another Day On Earth”

My comment was an attempt at a humorous reworking of the first line of America Is Waiting from the Bush of Ghosts album (one of my all time faves), not intended to express anger in any measure. I did not know the gov’t had anything to do with preventing Byrne & Eno from working together, can you provide a link to this info?
