Here’s the latest Portishead video, for The Rip from their latest album, Third.

Neither the video nor the song do much for me, and they seem to have left what was good about their sound behind. Has Portishead jumped the shark?

    I like it. I also liked Machine Gun. I’m glad to see they are exploring different musical avenues rather than sticking to tired old trip-hop downtempo grooves from the mid-nineties.

    This is pretty horrible. Sounds like a bad hippy recording from the 70’s.

    Not sure what people see in Portishead.
