Koblo has announced that Koblo Studio, a free open-source music application, is now available for download.
Versions are available for Windows and Mac. A Linux port is in the works.
The software is currently in Alpha, and therefore has bugs and incomplete features.
- You must first create a new session, then you can save without crashing.
- The Audio Engine is currently playing back audio, although communication with firewire devices is not yet possible.
- Please import only 24bit, mono, PCM .wav files into your test projects. Other formats are not yet supported
- VST/AU plugins are not currently supported (coming soon!)

Nice to see another FLOSS audio production app in the works aside from Ardour (which just recently hit version 2.5). Definitely gonna give this a try.

We are really please with the response to Koblo’s return. Max and crew have been working hard on bringing this version of the future to the music creation community. While the Koblo Studio is still in alpha we do have other software that has been released.
