I been roc'in the mpc 1000 for a couple years. I always knew somthing was wrong with my pads , cause they didn't feel like my friends 2000. Come to find out there not the same pads. Instead of the pads all being in one set Akai decided to take a short cut and use a cheaper single pad system. This is not the same hardware we've all grown to know and love. All the new modules of the mpc1000 have the pad fix upgrade at the same price, But to by the pad fix is $180.00. Here is a link to a petition about the fix. No data lost. Much easier to use than the MPC1000. The synth is dope. I'd like to see some global editing options and to be able to automate all the synth parameters.
