Build Your Own has published a tutorial on building your own NoiseTron.

The idea of this project is to build and program a small breadboard based noise maker that is easy to make and requires no soldering. The NoiseTron will play 8 different notes, each note is played by touching one of the 8 resistor legs at the bottom of the bread board with a stylus.
