More Psytrance Synth Fakery From Dali

It looks like Dali’s been faking it again.

The good people at DeadAct dredged up this video of Dali soloing on synth.

Note that there’s no correlation between what she plays and the synth sounds.

Or as DeadAct notes:

Perhaps she was harmonizing, but I don’t think so because the riff seems to magically play while she runs off and gets a cigarette, and by the looks of it, it is laced with MDMA.

Know any other acts that fake it as blatantly as Dali?

  1. Ugh, I love psytrance, but 90% of it is crap, and the only thing worse than making shit psytrance is pretending to make shit psytrance 😛

  2. ok. I can’t hear what she’s playing after the took the cigarette, but sound quality is crap. and the riff part was played by itseft without any pretending…

  3. kill her agenda, break this nord lead in her head, stick this cigaret on her *&^$%…. im glad that she do this to psy trance music as i hate this shit..
Im a brasilian myself and people at this party take too much drugs to even see that she’s faking it, when i say too much man you know what im talking about ..
and one more thing 4400 man for 4 womens.. what tha fuck of party is it?(i think its callled rainbow land for noobs) i hate psytrance and psy trancers.. that leave trash on the Brasilian beachs, leave the farms in a situation almost useless and enjoy crap music been Live faked, i had to admit they are genius to make everyone on that party like her sound, they make LOADS of Money in this fake parties, all i have to say, CHACOTA PURA.

  4. lol @ tim

sorry to hear that the psytrance scene in brazil is so lame. you should come to a psytrance party in the US sometime, i guarantee there will be a proportional amount of women to men and people try to clean up (most of the time)

  5. sorry i was a little anger at last post and i still mad, i aways have been mad with psy scene here.. GOA trance parties were good 9 years ago here, even i didnt enjoy the Goa sound too much, but the parties were really good.. after that only psy money machine party, mainstream money making, 30.000 people dancing to the fake dj.. thats amazing hilarious at the same time…with that 199BPM sound coming from the speakers with fake Djs and Live PA (Parasites Acts),to make people who knows whats going on really mad and the other 29.990 dancing to the gods or to the drugs and other 3 with their account loaded of money just a genius move of this “employers” in a “to smart people fuck with ignorant people” society , oh god where we will end in this world….
its like trowing shit in the “counter wind” watching this lives and be happy to pay for that.hahahaha
    just my 69 cents

  6. I love that when you google “Dali synth”, this blog post is the first item that comes up. Thanks for doing your part to rid the world of bad, uncreative fakery in the arts.

  7. Hello. …. when the people talk like Tim , when he say that crap music. i´m only think this guy is a fully ignorant., what did you you thik that you are.? for make that comment., TIm if you think that you are better man for be diferent to this people….. i´m feel sorry for you… ignorant. ……

  8. NONE plays what you call live. the only thing that artists do is press play on Cubase, logic or Ableton. So if you like the music why care?does anyone knows how many hours the artist gave up to make the live you are listening to?Probably a lot.

  9. I'm a fan of psytrance and of the opinion that this is more of a performance piece than an attempt to make anyone truly believe she was playing what they were hearing. What I mean is that she is performing on a stage and probably feels the need to do something during the synth parts, so why not twiddle a few knobs? It's all pretty harmless stuff really. To faultlessly play an obviously sequenced synth part on stage at around 142bpm whilst jumping up and down and drinking would be hard enough. Psytrance and Acid for ever

  12. hmmmm, gotta say I was expecting a lot worse. She def needed more processing on the vocals, that souded painful.
Most psytrance acts fake it live, even the great ones. It is sequenced music by definition, there is nothing live about it – artists even need to be careful about what they do live as it often hinders the sound instead of providing the live energy.

  13. Yeah, this kind of track is very difficult to perform live as it follows a very sequenced linear route and by it's nature will be made up of so many different sounds and fx, performing the whole thing live would require many more musicians on stage all playing 16th note riffs in perfect sync. Seeing as most psytrance 'acts' are made up of one or two bedroom producers this just is never going to happen! From watching the vid I think she was playing that simple 3 note riff live – and that's as much as you can expect from most live dance acts. They'll pick something simple that they know they can play and just rinse out that line for a bit. Either that or manipulate the filters / envelope on one or two sounds, so give the poor girl a break, she's out there doing what she loves and spending a lot of time in the studio making the music that, like or not, people are dancing to!

  14. uhm. not to defend dali but i've seen many fakers. some are due to lack of wrong interconnecting gear being held up in customs/lost luggage, some due to language issues in explaining what gear was required for a live set and so on. the artists still have to "act" like it's live.

any decent fan/musician can tell the difference between a live set and a cover anyhow.

erez/duvdev (infected mushroom) have made an entire career of playing "live" when half the gear isn't even plugged in, or powered on.

    fakery is all relative.
