FM is one of the most flexible ways to synthesize sounds. It’s hard to program but it’s very versatile. The new software FM synths are really good too. I have an FM8 and find it incredibly useful. It can handle all my old DX7 patches along with thousands of others that are floating around the Net!
Please tell me that the stuff he played exist in some album!! I want them all!!!
Wow – I felt like I was listening to an old-school Polish cartoon or a Hungarian propaganda film denouncing the dark excesses of the west. There's alternative, and then there's just noise. Though he certainly made the DX7 dance, that was the latter. Is there a communist pre-set mode on the DX? I can't find it on mine.
