Record Away From your Computer With Sonar V-Studio 100

Musikmesse 2009: This official video, via Cakewalk Software, shows you how to record basic tracks with the V-Studio 100 without the need to connect your computer.

You can then see how to import those tracks on your Mac or PC into your favorite DAW, like the included SONAR VS, to use as the basis for a new song.

  1. YES! This is brilliant! If there is no latency or data loss, this would be awesome. I would like to read some reviews of long-term usage, and test this thing out myself as well. Given the fragile nature of desktop PC’s I would be inclined to bring this thing along for field recordings and maybe even for live recordings… I would like to see more inputs, at LEAST 4, but if this takes off I’m sure the future versions will have more inputs.

  2. I'm picking one up in a couple of days. I can't wait to try this one out either. It looks good on paper but given the two industry giants I know I won't be disappointed. As a standalone, it looks like it can either record from just ch1 and 2 or the mix of all 8 inputs to one stereo track. It would have been even nicer if it did four tracks at once with a over-dub function, but that would be asking too much.
