  1. ^ Why those reactions?

I think Deadmau5 has a good ear for a hook. He’s brought benefits in that respect when collaborating with Kaskade. Also, he has a gift for personal branding — the recognizable mouse helmet.

But he doesn’t possess the versatility a far more cultured (not in the snobby, but experience of depth across styles) artist like BT (can’t think of a better example inspired by an eclectic wealth despite labels) does.

  2. you obviously shouldn’t hate on the man. he knows his shit and he has produced some of the most memorable electronic music ever, most of it within a 2 year time period. most of the people out there hating on deadmau5 are doing so because he is popular and in the underground scene, it’s all about obscurity. bottom line- don’t hate on him because you don’t like who he is, hate on him because you don’t like his music.

  3. Hes not a dj he is a pc, he doesnt use discs everthing coes from computors so he has to be the best electronic house producer out 🙂 got to admit he is the best thing on the dance scene at the minute, he ist too main stream but is very well known! Love deadmau5

  4. Joe you don't know what your talking about… just because he uses a Mac (which is not a pc btw) for his sets, doesn't mean hes the best producer. He uses a mac so that he doesnt have to spin, and so he can do things that you cant do with CDJ's. It doesn't mean its better or worse than spinning. It's just different, and it is what he likes to do.

I do agree he is a really good producer… He is an audiophile that pays fine attention to detail to all of his tracks. I am myself a producer and respect him in this manner.

Now would I use any of his tracks in my sets? No I would not… I will leave that up to the million other DJ's spinning his stuff. I like my go against the trends. Keeps my sets unique.

    1. Dude, pc (or p.c.) = Personal Computer. Ok? Apple Mac’s ARE personal computers. Mac (Macintosh) is the hardware. You can load most any Operating System on a Mac, including Microsoft Windows. I suspect you believe p.c. = Windows which comes from ignorance. By the way, most producers use OS X on a Mac. Google it.

Clearly, YOU don’t know what you’re talking about.

      1. Actually YOU don’t know what you’re talking. He uses OSX on his laptops for live mixing and a custom built Windows PC for production. Don’t believe me?
Why not take this studio tour here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cRt9QeItEg

He states that they both have their strengths however bear in mind he got his name when he was changing a graphics card (thus obviously a PC) and found a dead mouse in the case. He is a gamer and a gamers platform of choice is Windows. And before I get smug comments I distinguish Mac and PC even though a Mac is a PC. Never seen the Mac & PC Apple ads? “Hi, I’m a Mac.” “And I’m a PC.”

  7. Lol at Alex and Josh, "oh no not him again" There is a reason this guy keeps popping up everywhere and it's because is good and people in the know and people that do music agree. Sorry guys but you're in the unpopular minority if you don't like his music. And for some reason people seem to flock to the unpopular minority, I hate it when people only like music that no one has heard of and hate popular music.

  9. deadmau5 can produce.. but his style is just so outdated. everyone still listening to his shit has most likely just came into the edm scene and don't know any better. yes, he can make music. but can he throw down a decent set..? NO! i've seen him way too many times to know that this is true.

SO GET THE FUCK OVER DEADMAU5 AND HIS OUT OF DATE STYLE.
