nin-accessTrent Reznor has announced, via twitter, that NIN Access – the Nine Inch Nails iPhone app – is now available via the iTunes App store.

NIN: Access is a free app for iPhone and iPod touch that gives you mobile access to nin.com’s media and community features, as well as a new “Nearby” feature that lets you exchange messages and photos with other fans in your area.

The iPhone app furthers Nine Inch Nails lead on other groups in making use of new media and social media to encourage fans interaction.

You can also preview the iPhone app with the video walkthrough below. There’s also a great overview of NIN Access at Wired.

      something to think about

I just think it’s really funny to have terms like that (IDM). It’s basically saying ‘this is intelligent and everything else is stupid.’ It’s really nasty to everyone else’s music. (laughs) It makes me laugh, things like that. I don’t use names. I just say that I like something or I don’t. — Richard D. James
