He's such an A-Hole composing such good music! :D I really love it! Thanks for putting this one up.

His style though is getting boring. He was very inventive early on but now he seems stuck doing the same tricks and stuff over and over.

Do you think he's not developing his style any further? Sure Stutter Edits are *his* thing and probably the only thing he is really good at. But "never change a running system"
Sure it's getting boring sometimes but who else is doing Stutter Edits as good as he? I think it's just part of his style…

Did you hear This Binary Universe?

It's obviously BT, but also has a very original sound.

Pigeonholing BT is ignorant because he's a very diverse composer. If you fault him for stutter editing, then you must also fault Philip Glass for overuse of ostinatos — and look what he's still getting out of developing that further, decades later. It's definitely a pillar, surrounded by many supplementary elements. I look forward to hearing this whole new album!

I've always appreciated how BT mixes good looks with serious geekery, hooky songwriting with deep technical intricacy. That's really, really exceptional because it produces such a profoundly pronounced mindblock in so many people — they simply can't reconcile that polarity.

Too much editing and not enough soul for my taste.

I hold BT and Junkie XL in high regard as they are very much the masters of DAW editing and composing.
And they are both geeky gear heads. How can this be a bad thing.

I'm a BT fan & I'd have to agree. He spends like, 8 hours on a stutter edit & gets all excited about the 2048th notes etc and to the normal listener it just sounds like a "fart noise". The album 'Emotional Technology" was like, 90% technology & 10% emotion (and I AM a BT fan – but an honest one). He's getting way too hung up on trivial tech & electronic farting sounds.

      something to think about

Music, traditionally, is something that exists now and then disappears. Well it’s not like that with recording. Recording holds it in place and turns music into a malleable, plastic medium. So it absolutely suits painters. It’s the medium made for painting, actually – painting with sound. — Brian En
