I'm building one right now too. Pretty challenging but I'm taking it really slow. Really, I'm just getting started on it. I've done quite a few guitar stompboxes, but never a synth. I'm hoping it won't require too much troubleshooting, or that if it does there's a happy ending! Here's a blog showing my progress.

I'm building one of these right now, and I have to say it's not for the faint of heart. I'd recommend that if you are new to electronics and synth gear to build the original soundlab synth first. It would be a great learning experience, and would definitely be a fun thing to have around. Troubleshooting something as complex as the ultimate can be quite a pain if you aren't familiar enough with electronics. I've been building and repairing analog gear for about 6 years now, and I feel confident enough that I'll get this thing up and running properly without any major issues.... But not overly confident.

Looks like you have to source all your own parts, which can be the hardest part of synth DIY projects.

so, do you guys think this is worth buying?

like, the ultimate pack with all the shit
is that enough to build this synth up?
would my novice soldering skills be enough to build this cool synth?
