The Big GRP Synthesizer A8

This is a demo of the big GRP Synthesizer A8.

The structure of the analog synthesizer is the following:

  • 6 VCOs, temperature stabilized, with 3 FM sources (lin/exp) and 2 PWM sources.
  • 6 SUB VCO with -1 and -2 octave selector.
  • 2 RING MODULATORS
  • 1 NOISE GENERATOR (White, Pink, Low Freq).
  • 2 VCF Low Pass 24dB/Oct Transistor Ladder (Moog® style).
  • 2 VCF State Variable 12dB/Oct with four modes (Oberheim® style, but with auto oscillation).
  • 2 FIXED FILTER BANK 14 BAND (a la Moog® 914 module).
  • 8 VCAS (three on the main audio signal path, the others for modulation).
  • 3 AUDIO MIXERS.
  • 1 AUTO PAN.
  • 4 SIX STAGES ENVELOPE GENERATORS in DAHDSR configuration.
  • 3 FOUR STAGE ENVELOPE GENERATORS in ADSR configuration.
  • 2 VCLFO
  • 1 PERFORMANCE LFO amplitude modulatable by Aftertouch or ModWheel.
  • 1 Real SAMPLE & HOLD.
  • 1 Full function (and complex) 8×2/16×1 STEP SEQUENCER syncable with MIDI, Int Clock, Ext Clock or whatever.
  • Separate PORTAMENTO TIME for Upper and Lower sections.
  • A-440 Hz reference tone.
  • 1 Internal MIDI INTERFACE

The GRP modular synthesizer is an Italian Moog-style synthesizer. If you’ve used the GRP synthesizer, leave a comment with your thoughts!

    1. This machine bypasses the requirement for patchcords with connectivity switches for each “module”. The “patchbay” is for CV, MIDI and other connectivity to external machines and instruments.
