Here’s a treat for BT fans – the new video for his latest single, Rose Of Jericho, from his upcoming album to be released on Black Hole Recordings.

BT seems to be revisiting his progressive trance past with this track, which may be just what a lot of fans are looking for.

Visuals by Scott Pagano. Details on the release below.

Here BT’s press release for Rose of Jericho:

TRANCE PIONEER BT MAKES HIS LONG-AWAITED RETURN WITH THE RELEASE OF HIS BRAND NEW SINGLE “ROSE OF JERICHO”

THREE REMIXES TO BE RELEASED VIA BEATPORT ON JUNE 9; ANOTHER THREE REMIXES TO FOLLOW ON JUNE 23

BT TEASES FANS WITH NEWS OF AN INNOVATIVE NEW IPHONE APPLICATION

Three full years since the release of his critically acclaimed experimental album This Binary Universe, BT makes his highly anticipated return to dancefloors everywhere June 9. On Tuesday, BT unveils his brand new single, “The Rose Of Jericho,” from his forthcoming full-length album due in fall. The composer, technologist and widely renowned pioneer of trance music will be rolling out three remixes of Jericho, exclusively on Beatport. Mixes include: BT’s Dues ex Machina Album Mix, Sultan and Ned Shepard Remix and Robbie Rivera New Juicy Music Mix.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve written music that I could feature in one of my Laptop Symphony sets. Not only is this track a floor-filling monster, it really features my current electronic music inspirations – minimal beats with big strong melodic and harmonic content. This track rips the A** off a dance floor. I’ve played it from Korea to Brazil, and it’s the biggest track I’ve had to play out for years.”

In other bleeding edge news, BT and his software company, Sonik Architects, are preparing to launch an innovative new iPhone application that is unlike anything else on the market. More news on this application to follow soon.

BT, born Brian Transeau, is much more than a DJ. By consistently balancing creative and memorable songwriting, sonic innovation and the latest technology for a cutting-edge yet organic sound, BT has become one of the most revolutionary artists and sought after producers on the scene. His multifaceted career ranges from scoring Pixar films, composing intricate scores with eighty-piece orchestras for films like The Fast and the Furious, remixing classics for Madonna, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos and Seal, and crafting perfect pop hooks for *NSYNC.

Fans can expect to hear more remixes of “The Rose of Jericho” on Beatport June 23 when BT releases three more remixes: Adam K and Soha, Virtual Vault and Robbie Rivera Juicy Miami After Hours Remixes. All six remixes can be found on iTunes and everywhere on June 30.

June 9th release:
1. Rose of Jericho (BT’s Deus ex Machina Album Mix)
2. Rose of Jericho (Sultan & Ned Shepard Remix)
3. Rose of Jericho (Robbie Rivera New Juicy Music Mix)

June 23rd release:
1. Rose of Jericho (Adam K & Soha Remix)

Eh, I can't speak for everyone, but I really think this is a step backwards for BT. Thumbs down on this track :(

  2. 2 Chrles

Why would it be a step back for him? He changes his genre every album.

This video is cool, finally a good computer techno video that isn't boring. And I like the song too, not a ridiculous amount of glitch shit.

Nice return to the music that BT is best at.

Looking forward to his new album!

It's good and all, but I also feel it's a bit of a step back. This Binary Universe was a masterpiece, but maybe it was too much to expect something like that again? I'll hold my breath for the whole album, hopefully it's not all like this.

Those of you who feel this is regressive (instead of progressive, heh) — can you please explain more?

If I listened to this without looking at the artist name, I wouldn't have guessed it's BT because it contains less structural changes compared to something like "PARIS", but harkens back in its constant nature to the days of IMA — without the pianos, oh gosh I want BT to play more pianos on his tracks! (My bias.)

"Rose of Jericho" is catchy, and I think granular synthesis and multicomplextimedivisionOMGkymaOMGcamelaudioalchemyLOLwhathaveyounot is not so alien anymore because BT has explored so many valleys and troughs of it and played a huge role in influencing other producers to st-t-ttt-t-tutter — there's undoubtedly more left to explore, but some of it like diminishing returns. (Squarepusher realized something similar and that's why he went away from that for awhile, then combined drill 'n' bass with acoustic jamming.)

P.S. Who did the video? Scott Pagano or someone influenced by him?

    Torely

Yes – it's Scott Pagano. I added BT's press release with additional details, too.

in think this is a track that's worthy of praise!! when i heard it when watching the 12seconds video with the stutters, i almost wet my pants. let's get real people,… the stutter is signature of BT (i dont think he was the originator as many before him had used this sound), Hybrid and other artists like Costas James whose Nu-School breaks is probably too intelligent for the mass market. These guys produce music that progresses music in totality and pushes the boundaries of electronic music and should be encouraged. i think the rose of jericho is a sound that is 10 years ago, but it does not make it stale! keep bringing them on BT

  14. 14 Charles

    No It's not Scott Pagano.

The video was animated by Sam Hayles @ Dose Productions, his website is http://doseprod.com/

Video was NOT made by Scott Pagano..

Sam Hayles @ Dose Productions did it.

The tunes is greeeattt (as usual i'm a big BT fan from Turkey !)
But the vid is really cheap, isn't it ? Really old fashioned..

True fans of BT will appreciate his music no matter what it sounds like!
Those of you that have seen him live know for a fact that it tears it up everytime & puts just as much time n energy into is live shows as he does his musical productions. True fans of BT also understand that he has a broad sense of musical talent. The man went to an Ivy league school for music for god's sake! Not only can he conduct a full orchestra but he can score any movie that is put before him…….
…..He continues to amaze me not only as a boundary pushing musician but as a soul searching human being as well…….His spiritual side is very well laid out in his music, you just have to pay attention to it.
