The 2009 MTV VMA nominees are out.

But, unless you’re Beyoncé or Lady Gaga, you probably won’t care – because Beyoncé and Lady Gaga got nominated for pretty much everything.

Somebody needs to invent a new music video awards, and call it The Awesome Music Video Awards.

For the first year of The Awesome Music Video Awards, the award in all categories would go to director Chris Cunningham, just to get things off on the right foot.

Here’s a little taste of what I’m talking about:

  1. I think you guys should host the awesome music awards ! have categories for most awesome synth video of the year, most awesome keytar video, and awards for the best of what you reckon is the most awesome. 2. I guess in business the bottom line is money. And the music business is a business. But the only people who love the money are those making it. Which doesn't leave much for the rest of us. Which will work itself out when those screwing art for cash go retire – somewhere remote – and leave the rest of us alone with what we love: music.
