Korg microKORG Turned Into A Keytar

This is a demo of a customized Korg micoKORG: The MK-101:

This is my customized microKorg. It was largely inspired by the Roland SH-101 and other vintage synths.

It’s a blast to play. You can hear it used in some songs and find pictures of it at the Polaroids of the Pyramids MySpace page

Nice custom work, performed by Custom Synth.

  1. I agree, cost isn't an object. The point wasn't to create a "keytar" (I hate that word and notice that he avoids calling it that in the video). The point was to create a one-of-a-kind signature item. This is the only synth like this in the world.

  2. Custom instruments are great, except they don't really help many of us that don't have an assload of money to fork out for them. God knows how much this guy forked out for his pac man keytar.

  4. Why would you think some guy customizing his synthesizer would have anything to do with "helping" others? Folks are free to spend as much of their money as they want on whatever they want. Imagine somebody spending an assload of money to customize a car or motorcycle, not many would find issue with that. Once again, the point is to create a one-of-a-kind signature item.
