Description:

The SP-404SX includes 29 DSP effects — including filter, delay, unique voice effects, subsonic, and looper — that switch seamlessly for a smooth performance. Twelve trigger pads, three control knobs, and a Sub Pad for rapid triggering allow DJs, musicians, and sound engineers to trigger samples and jingles and apply effects on the fly at the club, gig, or theater.

The built-in microphone, simple user interface, and optional battery operation enable recording with the SP-404SX anywhere inspiration strikes. It is also easy to import samples and utilize the high quality effects onboard for sound design or unique live performance purposes. The more versatile pattern sequencer now includes an improved quantize mode with new shuffle feel for creating the latest in hip hop, R&B, and reggaeton grooves.

  7. Absolutely brilliant at creating J Dilla/ Battlecat Style Soulful Hip Hop beats. I trawl youtube for golden oldies and then create my own instrumentals created completely on the SP-404SX using 2 or 4 bar snippets (recorded through the line in input in stereo and truncated into perfect loops). I still only use the drum hits that came on the factory 1 GB SD card and just resample the individual hits for a different drum sound sometimes (I used the included software to transfer the required content over to my main card). I have a 32 GB HCSD (class4) memory card which works perfectly and contrary to what I heard previously, it is completely worth investing in one as complete sample and pattern bank sets can be backed up and recalled and the only limit to this is the size of the card. I love it! Also, the manual is very well produced and I knew how to use it fully within a few hours use. I could go on, but it's such a simple delight to use that I'll leave some things unsaid. Get one. I hope that this helps.

    The ultimate Sampler!

  9. I've got to correct myself quickly. You can indeed have pattern and sample set backups but only a maximum of 12 (which is more than enough really).
