  1. This App needs to be for the iPad, NOT for the iPhone. Let's face it; the iPhone is simply too small for Apps like this, and that's why it hasn't really taken off. This is clearly better for the iPad, and something this nice would make me seriously consider buying an iPad. Still cheaper and more flexible than an actual Tonori-On.

So I'm hoping that this developer will at LEAST make an HD-Version for the iPad, since running iPhone apps on the iPad sucks. Big time.

  5. I recently went on a road trip and took this app along. I also own a Tenori-On. I agree with above comments that on iPhone there just isn't enough real estate to make this an enjoyable experience. It was a bit like typeing with gloves on. So iPad seems like a better form factor.

Maneuvering is more time consuming and clumsy than using a real Tenori-on simply because you don't get the dedicated buttons and tactile feel you get from the real thing. It's more like playing an iPhone version of say an acoustic guitar where you pluck the image of strings rather than playing strings.

My biggest difficulty with this and most iPhone apps is that they don't integrate well into my workflow when I get back to the laptop.

I think this will mature as more MIDI converters and such come out and developers spend extra time writing code to take advantage of these devices.
