iPad DJ System Could Be Cool

iPad Music Software & Saturday Synth Porn: This iPad DJ system is pretty cool – but it looks like it’s just a design mockup at this point.

Here’s what design site Yanko Design has to say about the Numark iPad DJ System concept:

I’m sure there are plenty of uses for your iPad but have you considered turning a DJ with one. Use #69 is just this…become the next big name with the iDJ Music Mixing Station for iPad. A powerpacked DJ performance device with a dual-deck layout. Bringing down the neighborhood with your houseband mixing finesse or polishing your skills in piano drums and guitar, this is the device that helps you with both. The designers promise great feats with garage band and other apps, so are you willing to make some music?

There are about a million and two things wrong with that paragraph, starting with DJing with Garageband on the iPad.

Nevertheless, the iDJ Music Mixing Station for iPad looks like it could be pretty sweet.

We’re looking forward to hearing more about this iPad DJ setup.

In the meantime, let us know what you think about the idea of a hardware iPad DJ system!

  1. there is so much i can think of that would make this a great product to use for any producer =) Amazing looking unit

x10 to Numark for jumping on the opportunity first

  3. Good idea. They should also redesign those recording appliances that currently work with an iPod to include an iPad. That would make both the recording device/mixer and the iPad more useful.

  4. "Polishing your skills with piano drum and guitar?" Since when did actual practice on the real things become reduced to a flat screen? If you have a good ear and you can make it fly, go, boy, go, but don't get so caught up in the high-tech gloss that you lose sight of the value in hands, guts and Feel. Its sensible to modify and adapt; just don't get so caught up in adding bling to the roof that you let the foundation rot. Take the time to practice on a "real" instrument. You'll make a stronger connection with things that only live in a computer. Its a vital part of making your music memorable. No slam on anyone, just sayin'.

  5. i just see the potential in having a huge multi-touch display on a dj system. if it's done right, I do see how this system would be useful but it's too early to say right now. Keep in mind that the DJM-2000's touch screen is about iPhone size, and that alone is powerful.

  6. Hello, very nice thi equipment. Numark iPad DJ System. I live i Brazil and could you show me a local / shop to buy it?

    regards

  7. They need to make this system be iPod Classic, iPod Touch, and iPad compatable. I love using the iDJ2 but the only problem with it is that all my friends bring their iPod touches to parties expecting me to play songs off them but in reality, they dont work with it.

  8. this is just a student design. The real one looks like the Ion dj set up. Two small jog wheels, a few buttons, and a few knobs. Still good but not as refined at this thing. But definately more for a scratching dj than this.
