  1. Awesome shot!

Does anybody know how this laser harp works? I thought that laser harps worked sort of like the electric eyes that they used to put on doors – but that obviously isn't the case here.

  2. Damn I forgot that the gig was live last night! 🙁

re how the laser harp works…lots of people have built their own. Just google it dude! 🙂

  3. Works pretty easily in this case, buy 9 hi power green laser pointers and pretend to play to the music. I love Jarre, but he's not a live musician very much.

  4. There are several types of laser harps. Basically you can divide them into framed laser harps and frameless where beams can go up in the air. Jarre is using frameless laser harp.
Frameless harps you can divide on camera based and sensor based. Most difficult to build is sensor based and that type Jarre is using.
I don't know whose controller he is using but you can find one commercially available on http://www.laser-harp.com For that one you must have ILDA laser projector, and you are ready to go.
You can also find DIY project from Stephen Hobley which has laser inside controller.[youtube igNL_D8pgVY&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igNL_D8pgVY&feature=related youtube]
