There's something tending towards the cerebral and internal about electronic music… I reckon the general absence of a singer and lyrics has much to do with it: there's no-one to focus on but onesself. As such, it lacks the 'first person other' with whom most people can grasp some first route of identification with the music. The video here fills that gap rather well: what is – by itself – a fine, atmospheric piece of music is raised to the level of explicit human commentary because of the human drama we can see being played out. Thus human *relationship*. A great, fundamental psychic combination… [apologies for the over-intellectualisation…]
