  1. "that’s designed for DJs with no skills…. DJ beatmatching is now consumer technology"

you're a pretentious ponce. the whole foundation of your pretentious snarky remarks is that something that was once exclusive is now more broadly accessible.

    self absorbed piss ant.

  2. DJs are considered to not have musical skills by a lot of musicians that play acoustic instruments or actually make their own sounds/loops from scratch, etc. Your point being?

The problem of being arrogant in such a way is that there's always someone better than you that can use the same argument on you. Let's embrace technology and not be afraid that now everyone can make a mix for a party with the help of an app.

  4. I fail to see how Synthhead is self absorbed while maintaining a site encouraging user feedback.. The self absorbed ones are usually the ones calling others self absorbed. Let's see iDJ do something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MqAWBPw36E . That's my work. I am not afraid to hide behind an anonymous coward moniker, 'diaz'.

I wager most people attending some sort of event to see wild mixing would not be impressed with a DJ using iDJ and would leave. I would. Word would also get around that the 'performer' does not know how to mix but simply 'push play'. No competitions for that guy.

Having seen current trends toward the DJ spectrum, advanced gets more amazingly complex while simple continues to push toward brain dead, I welcome apps like this because it widens the gaps of skill even further. If someone wants to use iDJ, let them. As such, I would like to see them 'glitch out' like I do. They simply can't with iDJ and make me look all the better. Let's say 'diaz' and I are both DJing at a party. He uses iDJ and I do what I do. With Live. Prepped. Judge for yourself who would win. My remix of 'The Island' remix by Pendulum is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MqAWBPw36E . Check it out at come back here, to this thread. Let's everyone know who is the one with no skills.

I stand on the side of Synthhead with attitude. The economics surrounding iDJ will work themselves out.

  5. I wish someone would post about how utterly terrible this software is. I bought it on the app store thinking it would be a good background performer for when I had friends over, instead what i got was the most useless terrible sounding app I've ever had. Save your money if you are debating the download.

  6. thats my real name, my birth name you twit. nothing anonymous about it.
i dont use this shit but the issue is that the author takes issue with the fact that something is no longer as exclusive. in the end its all just having fun with sound, skill is subjective and for the author to go out of his way to just spread negativity reaks of pretension.
your skill is a parlor trick, it has no real application – it wont feed the poor or heal the sick so step off the high horse about the importance of your "skills"

oh and good job on jumping at the chance for some shameless self promotion.
