Turn Your Guitar Into A Moog Synthesizer

In the latest episode of EHX Effectology, guitar effects guru Bill Ruppert looks at “How to turn your guitar into a Moog synthesizer.”

“In this episode I show how to turn a regular guitar into a Moog synthesizer,” notes Ruppert. “There is a demonstration of the famous recording Switched-on Bach and Emerson Lake and Palmer’s classic synthesizer solo from the song Lucky Man.”

No keyboards, samplers or midi pickups were used.

While Ruppert’s guitar effects aren’t a match for classic Moog sound, they are very recognizable sounds, and musical for their own sake.

Check ’em out and let us know what you think!

You can get the exact effect settings at the EHX forum.

  1. That's a pretty epic guitar tone for the emerson reproduction. I liked both of those examples, and i usually think the effectology clips to be a bit meh.
