Free App Turns Your iPad Into A Drum Machine

iPad Music Software: BomCat has released i505 – a free app that turns your iPad into a drum machine:

Sit back with the i505 and start creating beats using classic sounds from one of the most venerable drum machines of the 80’s.

The i505 allows you play free-form as well as record your old-school beats using the built in sequencer. Tap the grid and the window will expand so you can edit your creation. Use the tempo wheel to speed up or slow down the beats per minute.

Here’s a video demo of i505:

If you give i505 a try, leave a comment and let us know what you think of it!

  1. some bad latency when pushing buttons, and even playing loop, you'll start to notice timing issues. if these issues are fixed, then it would be a solid app.

  7. i505 Developer here. I do apologize for some of the probs in the app. This was a proof of concept app to test the Flash for iPhone compiler… which has turned out to be a less than ideal tool. I'll be reworking the app this weekend to try and remove any issues with playback jitter.. and if at all possible.. reduce the driver latency for real-time play. So updates are on the way! I'll keep the app free until it's rock solid. In the meantime I do appreciate the comments and feedback on how to make the app better.
