SimplenZAR, An Arduino-Based DIY MIDI Step Sequencer

This is a quick demo of SimplenZAR, a MIDI step sequencer, based on an Arduino and a few common parts.

Here, the SimplenZAR is show sequencing a MeeBlip synthesizer.

Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform, based on flexible hardware and software. It’s intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments.

You can download schematics and Arduino code for the SimplenZAR at roebbeling.de.

  1. One of my pie-in-the-sky projects a few years ago was to make a step sequencer based on the x0xb0x (basically, a x0xb0x minus the analog circuits) and use an Arduino to drive an LCD display.
