  1. It's really cool. I think it takes a special set of ear skills to sift through what must be 100's of hours of vid & audio to find things that will fit together in this way. My guess is there was a couple tracks that needed to be in the right tempo & key (or at least, a related key), then start chopping & looping.

    Nice to see the list of original vids above– to see them in their original context.

  2. That is so funny! I was thinking of doing the same thing just today! Before I went to this page I recorded some guy playing bass on Youtube, took part of that and added a drum beat just to see if it would work. It's like the new way of sampling without getting sued or paying for cheesy, overpriced loop bundles! Always get permission though. Also, some times people are off beat, is there some software that can help that?

  3. If you cut it into sections, you can align the start of each section with whatever you are working with. That should help.

  4. I think thats exactly why they all work together so well. All the parts alone are very standard and somewhat common (other than that cool organ riff), so they can be mixed without stepping on each other. IMO, the whole track would have fit together twice as good if the singer didn't drop in and out of key so much.
