Electronic Music Forum Update – Post Your YouTube Videos

We’ve made a few updates to the electronic music forum, to minimize spam and to make the forum more useful.

One of the changes is that we’ve made it easy to post YouTube videos to the forum. If you or your company are posting videos to YouTube about synths, electronic music gear, synth jams, etc., you may want to share them in the forum. YouTube may have millions of visitors, but Synthtopia readers are all interested in synths.

We share a lot of videos in Synthtopia posts, but these tend to be ones that we expect to have fairly broad interest with readers. By making it easier for you to add your videos, we’re hoping to make it easy to share videos that may appeal to more specific audiences.

To add a video, you need to be a forum member. You can sign up instantly.

Here’s how posting videos to the forum works:

  • Get your video's YouTube URL. It should look something like this:
If there's a bunch of other junk on the end of the URL, delete it.
  • Next, find an appropriate category in the forum, select “New Topic” or “Post Reply” and then click the YouTube button:

Then, just paste in your URL.
  • Add a meaningful title and whatever other information you want to share and you’re done. Preview your video to make sure you’ve got the embed right.

Give this a try and let us know if you have any problems!
