  1. That looks pretty great. The only issue I see is that Mac users don't have a pathway to get FL iPad content back into a DAW. Maybe it supports track export? As a mobile scratch pad, GarageBand still offers a minimally circuitous path into Logic at least. Still, I'll be buying this app.

  2. Really looks promising. I have to say though, even if the programming task is that much more daunting, I am still pretty miffed that they went to the trouble to develop an iOS app and still refuse to bother to do a native mac release of fl studio.

  3. The issue is deeper than that. The native Windows coding tools that Image Line have used to create FL simply don't exist on OS X. They don't have the option of porting their code, they would have to write the entire application from scratch. It probably isn't impossible but would be a huge, costly time consuming operation. I think the coding tools issue is also why some of their plugins are on OS X while some aren't, depending on their reliance to the original Windows coding environment.

They actually farmed out development of this to a third party, and if I recall it's basically a re-skinned Xewton Music Studio.

I miss FL when I boot into OS X so I feel your point, just wanted to point out that Image Line isn't keeping FL off OS X for no reason.

  4. With this ipad sequencer stuff, can I hook up synths from my WINDOWS computer? What's the flow like, is it all computer, and all ipad, or do they integrate well?

  5. Well, I didn't see this coming.

Interesting, though I find most of this mobile audio stuff to be a bit pointless. Though maybe if I had more spare time away from home…

  6. This is not a port of the FL studio, it's basically a reskinned Music Studio (iPhone and iPad app). This is not done by the guys behind FL studio, they outsourced it to Xewton. FL Studio couldn't be ported because it relies too much on Windows-specific code.

Music Studio is cool but nothing ground breaking. I like the step sequencer, I think that's new.

  7. Not impressed. Why should I buy that app over the million other apps that probably do the same thing only better. I'm really starting to dig Touch OSC though. Triggering with logic… so fun.

  8. Why wait?

You can buy it now @ xewton.com/musicstudio/overview/

    It's called Music Studio.

Or wait for it to be reskinned and the price to go up.

  9. Ahhh so disapointing 🙁
doesnt even have the basic sample load features, or the audio options of fruityloops 2 (like cut itself etc..)
Would have it been so hard to recreate these features in a very basic fruityloops for ios? instead of just reskinning sumthing.
I started out on fruityloops 1.0, and would have much prefered that over this!
    BTW…
does anyone have a copy of fruityloops 1.0? ive been looking for it for ages, just for abit of fun 🙂
