So did it revolutionize music tech? To keep things in perspective, lets take a look at Tenori-On vs Monome vs another music technology – euphonium. http://bit.ly/ieN6q4

Is Tenori-on "Remarkable"( by Seth Godin's definition "Remarkable = worth making a remark about")? It's an extremely small sample, but this post and the first two comments indicate that this technology – first demonstrated in 2005 and released in 2007 – is in fact still remarkable.

  26. I don't get comments like yours.

I'm more of a fan of old-school synth gear myself, but I don't understand why any electronic musician would want to be ignorant of new technologies like this.

It's a hardware synth! What would you rather have them cover?

  27. I sold mine a while back and purchased Maschine. I know they're different but what a step up for me. Yes it did influence others, but for a 1,000 bucks imagine what you could get technology wise. Once you play a Tenori you find yourself wanting it to more than it is capable of. In addition, just try and navigate the menus or "recording" a song. Better yet you can make lunch while it loads your samples. Physically it is still remarkable, but that is what only remains. Other than that, it no longer stands on it's own based on current technology. Simply because a few artist use it does not make it remarkable, just as when Eddie Van Halen used a drill to make sounds on his guitar. It was inventive, but it did'nt make the drill a remarkable musical instrument. Just visit the official TO forum and you will get a grasp. If this was a remarkable product Yamaha would be paying a lot more attention to it and the users.
