Matt Davis hacked a Kinect, using OpenNI & Max/MSP, to create an awesome laser MIDI controller.

With it mapped to Ableton Live and Henry Strange’s MIDI to DMX Laser Control System, Matt demonstrates his a/v control system.

  1. Off-topic but did you guys see what Apple just did to Final Cut Pro with FCPX? Oh, god, I feel sick…if they do this to Logic, oh, man…Why couldn't I have just used Cubase all those years ago…but who knew Apple would turn into a toy company? This is really bad.

  2. On-topic, it's pretty cool, one of the better uses of motion control i've seen, and It'd be pretty great if they released some of the patching software, or sold it all as a kit or something that you could attach to ableton live.
