Akai has released SynthStation 2.0, a major update to their software synth workstation for iOS that adds real-time recording, CoreMIDI support and more.

  1. Now that I test it some more, a very sharp attack or release in the amplitude envelope seems to trigger it. It's quite noticeable for me on preset 7, "Pro Horn."

  2. The 4 pole filter seems to act strange now. If a sound uses more than 40% resonance it closes the filter right off and just sounds like a thud or a click. Strange as it worked fine before. Change the filter to 2 pole and it's fine.

  3. Did installing this 2.0 update wipe out your user patches, sequences or songs?
    Have Akai added the ability to save this user data remotely?

  4. Terribly clumsy app. Poorly thought out. Almost unusable for me. Sad, because it’s powerful. I could never make a track on such an app.

    Best iOS music app? Shapeless. A cool simple drum machine. Never-ending fun.
