The Dave Smith Instruments / Roger Linn Design Tempest Drum Machine was one of the hottest introductions at the 2011 NAMM Show.
The Tempest has a great pedigree, coming from one of the pioneers of thesynthesizer, Dave Smith, and the father of the modern drum machine, Roger Linn.
“The design of Tempest reflects a rethinking of what a drum machine needs to be in the current era,” says Linn. “It’s not so much a drum machine as a new musical performance instrument for the creation, manipulation, and arrangement of beat-oriented music, with an intuitive and efficient use of human gestures.”

this thing looks amazing im just wondering how you can construct whole tracks with only six voices, or am i missing something. i dont think there is any other drum machine this powerful with pads like that and internal synth sounds. i wish elektron would make a machinedrum with pads like that though. 2 grand aint no joke either.
Really? They can charge $2K for a drum machine, but can’t film the start guide in HD so that we can actually read the screen?! Fail!!
