Here’s what NI has to say about iMaschine:

Play and record drums on the 16 pads, jam a melody on the keyboard, sing on top of your loops via the built-in audio recorder or create your own unique sample banks from any source – With iMASCHINE the focus is always on the music. And when you’re done, you can directly upload your track to SoundCloud and share with your friends, or finalize it in the studio if you own Native Instruments’ MASCHINE hardware.

iMASCHINE is a professional instrument designed for beat producers of all levels – you don’t need to have experience to create fresh beats. With its intuitive threshold-based pad sampling, note repeat, auto-loop length feature, professional onboard mixer with six studio effects and the unique audio recording function, iMASCHINE makes it easy to instantly create grooves whenever the mood hits.

Use the included drum kits and melodic sounds, all in professional WAV-format, or expand your library with the iMASCHINE Expansions – available directly from your device via the in-app store.

  1. Not for iPad? That’s kinda fail… I realize you can use it on the iPad, if you don’t mind the pixelation caused by making it full screen. But, in my mind thats not good enough… (good thing I have iPhone also)

    1. This just makes me wonder what NI has in store for the iPad.

They aren’t going to ignore the platform – so they’ve got to be thinking bigger, don’t you think?

    1. Now that’s not very nice. Could you maybe explain why you think it is the best DAW app yet, instead of insulting people?

    2. ma – maybe you better read other people’s comments before calling them trolls!

He said “I realize you can use it on the iPad, if you don’t mind the pixelation caused by making it full screen.”

There’s a big difference between being compatible with the iPad and having an iPad or Universal version.

  2. Being that I frequently comment on here and the Facebook page (see “adam finds a problem with the website and the ipad,”) I feel I am hardly a “troll.” What I am stating, and what Synthhead (who IS Synthtopia) has apparently agreed with, is it’s lack of *optimization for the iPad is a FAIL! Sorry if I feel that the “2x” zoom button is far acceptable for some one serious about control on the iPad, and the pixelation created by streatchin the graphic interface verges on headache causing. Before calling people names, Mr. Never Seen You Comment Before, maybe you should look into things a little more, and accept that people have opinions. If you were to keep reading instead of being a “TROLL,” you would notice that I even replied to Synthhead’s comment saying something agreeable… So go back to making what ever stupid music you make, and I’ll do the same, but remember this is a blog with a lot of followers and we all comment good or bad to just about everything. DONT BE AN ANONYMOUS JERK

  3. So anyone got it yet? Tried it out? Made a video of them using it besides the Jamie Lidel video? (I don’t always trust promo videos)

    1. Got it, it’s ok, I mean there could be a little more depth to it, but for what it is it’s good… Now as for NI and the iPad…

  4. this app is possibly the best app i have found to date. even better than yes Angry birds. Its so functional and to my knowledge doesn’t limit you very much. Some apps kinda give you small options with limited versatility, but as with the Maschine app its very friendly. I would say that now i want to purchase the actualy Maschine Console!
