  1. I bought this around the time it was first released. I am yet to get it to work. I’ve never heard a sound from the app, and once I do run it, I have to turn off my iPad and then turn it back on to get sound to work again. Not sure why it’s been like that, but my only guess is that it has to do with iOS 5. I’ve been running it since Beta 1. Anyone else having the same issues I am?

    1. @ Brigden, I think that may be the problem. I also bought it when it came out and use it regularly on my ipad2 but I haven’t had a problem with it.

I liked Rhythm Studio from the beginning. It’s really quick to make some beats, add a bass line, and string together some melodies. I like having all my tools on one screen and for me anyway it’s really fast to work with, has super easy to manipulate controls, and sounds fine.

I find that after the update they improved what was already really good. The controls seem even better, two instruments were added, and more. All for under a dollar it’s really great.

  2. Hardly a ‘sale’. This title just came on the market 2 months ago for 99 cents. A month ago, the price was bumped up to $1.99. Now, it gets dropped back to 99 cents. This is ‘gaming’ the system and is done merely to take a shot at getting publicity for the product. Pricing this way, may the software mentioned, but does not constitute a ‘sale’ or real price drop. It’s just marketing.

  3. I really like this app. The new Hornet module is awesome. There’s more than enough to justify the asking price but I love the idea of these simple devices and would like to see more. I think a simplified 1-operator FM synth with two AD Envelopes (Amp, Mod) would be a killer addition, for example.

  4. So, today I downloaded ios5 and tried Rhythm Studio.
There does seem to be a problem in ios5. I get no sound out of my ipad2’s speaker when it’s running. Also after closing Rhythm Studio other music applications that prior to running Rhythm Studio worked fine, cease to produce sound after running Rhythm Studio.

The sound did return suddenly after I started a game (Real Racing 2) After that all applications except for Rhythm Studio worked fine again. I tested this again and the same thing happened. I started Rhythm Studio and no sound came from the ipad’s speaker, and after closing the application other applications also had no sound the same as the first time.

I tried Rhythm Studio with headphones and I do get audio. However it seems messed up because the sound out of the headphones with full ipad volume is not very loud and quite distorted.

Does anyone else have a problem like this?
    Thanks in advance

    1. I just updated to iOS5 this morning and tested it on my iPhone4 and there’s definitely a problem. The sound is very distorted and panned hard-left through my headphones. I bet their will be a quick fix.

      1. Don’t hold your breath for an update. It’s been like this for months. I’ve never had this work as I stated above. Granted, iOS5 was only released to the public yesterday. But this is a developer, so they should have tested their app with iOS5 months ago. I’m sure some day they will update it, but for now I’m disappointed.

  5. I wrote to Pulse Code last night and this was their prompt reply:

“I appologize for this inconvenience! We have solved the problem 2 days ago and the fix is in review with Apple.  The review process typically takes 5-10 business days.

The issue is that in iOS5 the audio routing was changed in a way that broke the way Rhythm Studio worked.

Thank you for your patience and the update is coming soon!

    Best regards,
    Billy
    Pulse Code”

So the fix is on the way soon.
