New Virtual Saxophone, Samplemodeling Ms. Sax S, Sounds Pretty Amazing

Samplemodeling has introduced Ms. Sax S., a Virtual Soprano Sax for Mac & Windows.

Ms. Sax S. uses samples as base material. The resulting timbre is therefore that of the real instrument. But the similarity with a standard sample-based virtual instrument ends here.

The synthesis engine of Ms. Sax S. allows continuous interpolation among different vectors like time, dynamics, pitch and formants. Real time processing techniques yield realistic legato/portamento, vibrato, ornamentations & trills with phase continuity, constant-formant pitchbends, subharmonics, growl and flutter tongue, which can be performed in real time.

Check out the video for a demonstration of Ms. Sax S, both solo and in a mix – and let us know what you think of its capabilities.

Ms. Sax S. runs on PC (any host supporting VST 32/64 bit) and Mac (any host supporting AU 32 or 64 bit, and VST 32/64 bit). It’s available now for EUR 119.
