Moog Minitaur Analog Bass Synthesizer Video Review

Nick at Sonic State has one of the first Moog Minitaur analog bass synthesizers in the UK, if not the world.

This video captures him giving a full overview of the Minitaur and offering his take on the new analog beast. Best of all, lots of audio examples pepper the review.

The Minitaur review also takes a look at the Minitaur editor.

Check out the video review and let us know what you think of the new Mooooooog!

  1. Perhaps the lack of PWM is due to the OSC circuit design. I had a tech tell me the Taurus oscillator has elements of the original 901 modular oscillator, which I’m sure accounts for its superior tone. I wish the pitch was a little more unstable, so we could hear some of that lovely phasing you get on the model D, but if I had everything I wanted on a moog, it would be an original prototype series 900!

Perfect patch implementation that doesn’t compromise the experience with the physical interface. I love this. I wish more people could integrate digital control on analog products as invisibly as this.

Great review, Nick! Thank you. I will definitely consider taking this on tour.

  2. HAve one and really like it if you are looking for a bass alternative, with a nice analog sound you won’t be disappointed

  3. I got one and spent some quality time with i. I absolutely love this thing. I also own a voyager and this thing gets below the voyager really well.

  4. can anyone say something about the quality of the knobs, in the video they don’t seem as rock solid as the voyager or maybe Dark Energy ones which are tightly screwed to the chassis. Just can’t stand that MFB feeling some gear seems to have these days.
