Novation Intros Automap 4.3, Adds Support For More DAWs

Novation Automap 4.3

Musikmesse 2012: Novation has introduced Automap v4.3 adding support for four more DAWs.

Automap comes free with all Novation controllers and is designed to give you instant access to your DAW’s transport, mixer and plug-in instruments and effects, as well as third-party plug-ins. Automap also gives you visual feedback of whatever you are controlling via its software edit window.

Automap 4.3 brings support for Logic Express, Studio One, Digital Performer and Reaper, adding to the list of other supported DAWs including Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Reason and Ableton Live.

Automap 4.3 also improves plug-in performance with Ableton Live and re-introduces the Follow Focus feature, which enables you to automatically focus on the plug-in you are currently using.

  1. Does it still require you to “wrap” your plugins with their automap software? I had their original remote sl and tried out up to version 3, same problem… Makes session compatibility with other musicians impossible if they dont also have automap installed. Wouldnt be a big deal if it was possible to strip the automap out and keep the plugin settings, but most of the sequencers ive used see it as a different plugin and you have export & re-import presets if you take your session to another location without automap. Kind of defeats the time-saving purpose behind this software at that point. If im missing something on this, please fill me in…
